This amazing mushroom has a very long stem and a pretty rounded head. The stem is all white and the head is dark with white dots. It was at least some 14 cm. high and the only one around in this area. Mallorca is somewhat famous for mushrooms and as it is an island there are some species which are rather unique to Mallorca. There are hundreds of species all over the island and the best time of the year to look for them is around the end of November and beginning of December. You will find few people who will share their knowledge on the best places where to search for them. However, as a general guideline, a mountainous area with large trees is usually a good spot where to start searching for them. Mushrooms are delicate and you should know how to cut them off without destroying it, so that there will be a new mushroom next year.
